Why Stimuli Studio

Paper stimuli eat prep time, get bent, go missing between sessions and rarely match from one RBT to the next. Learners memorize the one picture of a dog instead of learning "dog."

Stimuli Studio keeps every program on the tablet. Each target has several real-life examples, so learners generalize across photos, 3D pictures and cartoons. Field size, number of trials and distractors are set by the BCBA, and every RBT runs the program the same way.

See it in action

From program to practice in about a minute.

From blank program to first trial in 60 seconds

Watch a BCBA build a farm animals receptive ID program from the photo library. Then an RBT hands over the tablet, the learner taps, and every trial is scored with one tap.

Printing. Cutting. Laminating. Done.

Why clinics are retiring the laminator, in under a minute. Send it to your clinical director or your whole team.

How it works

Two hubs, one for each person on the case.

BCBAs work in the Stimuli Hub. RBTs work in the Learner Hub. Switch below to see each one.

Your Stimuli Hub is password-protected, so only BCBAs can change programs.

Program types

Seven program types, all built in.

The same library powers every program type, so one set of targets can carry a learner from receptive ID to tact to class.

Receptive IDLearner touches the target in a field of pictures.
TactLearner labels one picture, and the RBT scores the response.
AssociationLearner picks what goes with something, like toothbrush and toothpaste.
FeatureLearner picks the one with a feature, like the one with stripes.
FunctionLearner picks by what it's used for, like the one you drink with.
ClassLearner picks the member of a category, like "touch the animal."
CustomName your own program type and write your own instructions.

Privacy by design

Learner codes, not learner names.

Stimuli Studio is designed so a child's identity never has to leave your organization. You add each learner as a short code and keep the list that matches codes to children yourself.

  • Codes only. Add each learner as a short code like "AlMo" or "JD-04", never a name.
  • No free-text notes. Session data is counts and correct, prompted or incorrect, with nothing written about the child.
  • Your organization's space. Each clinic or school only ever sees its own learners and programs.
  • Pictures are for stimuli. Upload photos of objects and places, never photos of learners.

Questions

Good to know.

What devices does it run on?

Any device with a modern web browser: iPads and Android tablets for sessions, and laptops or Chromebooks for building programs. There's nothing to install.

Where do the pictures come from?

The library has over 3,000 pictures: real photos taken for BX Learning, credited Wikimedia Commons photos, 3D pictures and cartoons. You can also upload your own photos for any target.

Is it for clinics or schools?

Both. Clinics usually start on Solo or Clinic. Schools and districts get a plan sized to their campuses, and we'll work through your district's data agreement with you.

Do I need to enter learner names?

No, and you shouldn't. Stimuli Studio is designed around learner codes. Your team keeps the list that matches codes to children.

Can RBTs change programs?

No. Programs are built and edited in the password-protected Stimuli Hub. RBTs only run them from the Learner Hub.

What happens after my free trial?

Pick a plan to keep going. If you don't, your account stays read-only, so nothing your team built is lost.
